Rod & Custom magazine staged an annual "Tiny Bear Run" that featured a scramble event and a variety of field events that managed to combine skill with goofiness.
Pictured above are two riders duelling it out in the balloon bustin' event in 1962. In this event, riders were armed with rolled up newspapers, had balloons fastened to their helmets and were told that the last one to emerge from the fray with balloon intact was the winner.
