"Timmy and Skyler" sent this photo taken in 1951:
This pic shows 2 of 5 'karts' that were built in 1949 or 1950 for the purpose of performing at parades. These appear very similar to quarter midgets, which were a popular racing format for youngsters in the 50's (preceding the debut of 'karts' per se in 1956). The above 'karts' appear, however, to have been constructed with the intent of accomodating adult drivers.
One of the 5 exists to this day and is planned for restoration.The other 4 are believed
to have been trashed by the original owner.
