Colliding
An action shot taken at the second annual (1961) Mini-Bike Jamboree at the GoKart Raceway in Azusa CA. The jamboree consisted of three events: a road race run on a paved sprint track; a flat track race run on a dirt oval; and scrambles run on unimproved terrain surrounding the raceway facility.
Overall winner in A class (up to 5.8 cu in) was Don Watkins on a Cary powered Bug Flea. Bob Bosemer took the honors in B class (up to 7 cu in) on a West Bend 700 powered GoKart cycle. The day was action packed. Lots of spills but, surprisingly, not even a single minor injury all day.
